Nistics is adding five new 100% electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS vehicles to its green logistics strategy

• The 5 new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS tractor units delivered to Nistics, a company within the Cunext Group, reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainability.
As part of its sustainability and green logistics strategy, the international logistics operator Nistics, part of the Cunext Group, has recently added five new 100% electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS tractor units to its fleet. These have been supplied by Eje Occidental, a Mercedes-Benz and FUSO dealer operating in the provinces of Badajoz, Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Toledo and Córdoba. The delivery of these five new eActros 600 LS units took place at the Group’s headquarters in Córdoba. The event was attended by Aurora Gracia de los Ríos, Vice-President of the Cunext Group; Juan Butiñá, Managing Director of Nistics; Antonio García-Patiño, CEO of Daimler Truck Spain; and Pedro Villanueva, Manager of Eje Occidental.

Sustainability objective

The aim of Nistics and the Cunext Group is to continue developing their sustainability and green logistics strategy. With these new additions, the fleet will reach 25 electric trucks.

The five new vehicles, model eActros 600 LS, will operate on routes between Andalusia, Catalonia and the Basque Country, with the aim of reaching 2 million kilometres by 2026, resulting in an annual reduction of 1,446 tCO₂. This initiative will further advance route optimisation, investment in eco-efficient facilities and waste reduction.

In this regard, as stated by the Vice-President of the Cunext Group, Aurora Gracia de los Ríos, “the incorporation of electric trucks reinforces our commitment to carbon neutrality by reducing transport-related emissions. It is another step towards a more sustainable industrial operation, which will culminate in 2026 with the launch of the green copper factory in Córdoba, where, following an investment of €200 million, we will produce copper with the lowest carbon footprint in Europe”.

As part of its comprehensive sustainability vision, Nistics is involved in the construction of a new electric charging station for trucks in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville), a facility that will incorporate ultra-fast charging systems and is expected to come into operation shortly. Meanwhile, the Cunext Group has recently inaugurated a photovoltaic solar plant, representing an investment of six million euros, which, with an installed capacity of 7.62 MWp, will supply 20% of the electricity consumption of its Córdoba plant, saving 2,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

eActros 600, the long-distance electric truck

With a proven electric range of up to 500 kilometres without the need for intermediate recharging, and with no environmental impact, the power of the eActros 600 comes from three battery packs of 207 kWh each, providing a total capacity of 621 kWh. These battery packs are combined with an 800-volt electric axle equipped with two electric motors. These units are capable of generating a continuous power output of 400 kW and a maximum power of 600 kW. In addition, the ProCabin cab provides maximum comfort for the driver and, thanks to its design, reduces energy consumption. Antonio García-Patiño highlighted the reasons why the eActros 600 is the most efficient heavy electric truck in Europe “This truck, our flagship in electric vehicles, reflects the brand’s philosophy and commitment to the environment by making all our experience and technology available to our customers in a 100% electric vehicle”. The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 incorporates five levels of energy recovery. This makes it possible to extend the driving range, while the driver is always informed of the battery charge status, consumption level and operating range. However, as Pedro Villanueva stated “the eActros 600 is not only about range data or load capacity, but about a real improvement in performance and a greater ability to handle longer and more demanding routes. It allows our customers to undertake journeys that are not possible with other solutions currently available on the market. The units we are officially delivering today are already operating routes from Córdoba to Zaragoza or Vitoria, with more than reasonable charging times and stops”.
