Sustainability objective
The aim of Nistics and the Cunext Group is to continue developing their sustainability and green logistics strategy. With these new additions, the fleet will reach 25 electric trucks.
The five new vehicles, model eActros 600 LS, will operate on routes between Andalusia, Catalonia and the Basque Country, with the aim of reaching 2 million kilometres by 2026, resulting in an annual reduction of 1,446 tCO₂. This initiative will further advance route optimisation, investment in eco-efficient facilities and waste reduction.
In this regard, as stated by the Vice-President of the Cunext Group, Aurora Gracia de los Ríos, “the incorporation of electric trucks reinforces our commitment to carbon neutrality by reducing transport-related emissions. It is another step towards a more sustainable industrial operation, which will culminate in 2026 with the launch of the green copper factory in Córdoba, where, following an investment of €200 million, we will produce copper with the lowest carbon footprint in Europe”.
As part of its comprehensive sustainability vision, Nistics is involved in the construction of a new electric charging station for trucks in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville), a facility that will incorporate ultra-fast charging systems and is expected to come into operation shortly. Meanwhile, the Cunext Group has recently inaugurated a photovoltaic solar plant, representing an investment of six million euros, which, with an installed capacity of 7.62 MWp, will supply 20% of the electricity consumption of its Córdoba plant, saving 2,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
