Following a brief tour of the new installation, a commemorative plaque marking the occasion was unveiled.  <br><br>\n\nThe installation, intended for self-consumption, has involved an investment of<strong> \u20ac6 million<\/strong>, covers an area of <strong>8 hectares<\/strong>, and includes <strong>13,888 panels<\/strong> with an installed capacity of <strong>7.62 MWp<\/strong>. It will supply approximately <strong>20% of the factory\u2019s energy consumption in C\u00f3rdoba<\/strong>, making it the largest photovoltaic project within Iberdrola\u2019s Smart Solar portfolio, featuring an innovative construction method using prefabricated concrete blocks. <br><br>\n\nThis plant, which will achieve <strong>a reduction of CO2 emissions of 2,500 tonnes per year<\/strong>, forms part of a project declared of strategic interest by the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda. The Chairman of Cunext, <strong>D\u00e1maso Quintana<\/strong>, emphasised that <em>\u201cthis installation reflects the firm commitment of the Cunext Group to the decarbonisation of its production processes and to sustainable industry. It is a strategic project for us, in which we will invest around \u20ac230 million to promote sustainability and enhance competitiveness in the markets.\u201d<\/em> <br><br>\n\nThe Regional Minister for Industry, Energy and Mines, <strong>Jorge Paradela<\/strong>, underlined the \u201ccommitment to sustainability and energy efficiency of the Cunext Group\u201d with the commissioning of this self-consumption installation, which will cover 20% of its electricity needs, and highlighted the support provided by the Andalusian Government, through the Andalusian Energy Agency\u2014an entity attached to his department\u2014with a grant of \u20ac556,000 to support this installation. <br><br>\n\nJorge Paradela also highlighted the <em>\u201cgenuine revolution\u201d<\/em> taking place in industry in Andalusia and Cunext Copper\u2019s commitment to producing copper wire \u201cwith the lowest carbon footprint\u201d in Europe.
